Solitaire Chess is a single player, puzzle game where your goal is to remove all but one of the pieces from the board. #Quick_to_Play #Easy_to_Learn #Single_player
Pieces Required:
16 Tiles
10 Piece Bases
10 Checker Pieces (single color suggested)
Setup:
Make a 4x4 board and setup the pieces according to one of the puzzles found here.
Rules:
Movement:
Every move must be a capture. Moving onto a piece captures it and that piece is removed from the board. Moves are the same as in chess:
Kings move one space in any direction and can never be captured.
Bishops move diagonally any number of tiles.
Rooks move vertically or horizontally any number of tiles.
Knights move two spaces vertically or horizontally in one direction, then one space in a direction perpendicular to the first. Additionally, knights may jump over pieces.
Pawns capture one space diagonally forward, where the forward direction is designated by the piece setup sheet.
Ending the Game:
When there are no more moves left, the game ends. If there is only one piece left then you win. If there are more pieces left, reset the board and try the puzzle again.
